Dear Friends,
As the Pesach - Passover holiday approaches, a service traditionally provided by the rabbi is the sale of Chametz.
As in previous years I will be glad to be your shliach (agent) to sell your Chametz.
If you would like me to be your shliach (agent) to sell your Chametz please fill out the form linked here: http://tinyurl.com/chametzform
Please note that all forms should be in no later than early morning on Friday, April 19, 2019 local time, wherever you are located.
This is an absolutely free service, and donations are not required or solicited. However, if you would like to donate to Rabbi Kaplan's Kimcha Depischa (food for those in need for Pesach) fund, you can do so at this link: https://sites.google.com/view/pesachfund
If you would like some general information regarding the sale of Chametz, please see this article: https://goo.gl/CzOLHd
Wishing you and yours a Chag Kosher Visomeiach - A Happy and Kosher Holiday!
With blessings,
Rabbi Dovid B. Kaplan

The purpose of this meeting is:
1) To update the membership on the status of the organization and to bring to light recent happenings within the organization.
2) To elect new officers.
3) To discuss plans for the future of the organization, which include in part: fixing the building, renewing services on a steady basis, organizing events, establishing classes, and rejuvenating the aims and purposes of the organization as set forth in the by-laws.
4) To address issues regarding:
a) safeguarding and securing the organization’s funds and property.
b) stopping the erosion of, and making repairs to the organization’s building.
c) establishing a solid future for and maximizing the potential of the organization’s historic building.

c) establishing a solid future for and maximizing the potential of the organization’s historic building.
5) Any other business to discuss.
It has been a number of years since a meeting has been held, and it is necessary to hold a meeting to fix the breaches and put the organization on firm footing.
In the past few years we have seen an influx of Jewish young professionals to the organization’s area, and this is expected to continue to grow in the upcoming years. As the only remaining Jewish Orthodox congregation serving the areas of West New York, Guttenberg, Weehawken, and North Bergen, it is necessary to rejuvenate the organization to properly serve the Jewish community of these areas. The vision of the founders and supporters of the organization was and remains to establish a permanent Orthodox Jewish community organization for future generations; as the founding documents say: “The organization has been founded as an Jewish Orthodox Institution, and shall always remain as such…” We will, with the help of G-d, bring this vision forward.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting, and look forward to rejuvenating the organization with your help and support.

A Message from The Rabbi about Election Fears
Before panicking at the all the horrible things that might happen if the candidate you're afraid of gets elected, remember that G-d can work his plan through any candidate. As the oft-quoted Jewish proverb goes: "לב מלכים ושרים ביד ה -- The hearts of kings and officials are in the hand of G-d."
Go out and vote your conscience, and then relax knowing that there's a G-d watching over us, as King David wrote: "הנה, לא ינום ולא יישן שומר ישראל -- Behold, the Guardian of Israel (i.e. G-d) does not slumber nor sleep."
So take a deep breath and relax, as my father expounds: "ה' לי ולא אירא -- if Hashem (G-d) is controlling the entire universe, why should I be afraid?!"
